The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation and leader of the United Russia party, Dmitry Medvedev, made a momentous and stern statement, clarifying Moscow's non-negotiable terms for ending the conflict in Ukraine, while simultaneously issuing warnings to Armenia and sealing the strategic alliance with Iran.
The 3 non-negotiable terms of the Russian Federation for Ukraine
In an interview with the state radio and television of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dmitry Medvedev emphasized that the political and viable resolution of the Ukrainian conflict requires the liberation of the Donbass region and other areas with a Russian-speaking population, the declaration of a neutral, non-nuclear, and independent status for Ukraine, as well as the definitive abandonment of extreme nationalist policy by the authorities in Kyiv.
The Russian official recalled that these terms had initially been set by the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, underlining the need to return to the principles of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of Ukraine following the collapse of the Soviet Union.
At the same time, he demanded the cessation and condemnation of practices banning the Russian language and anything Russian.
Warnings to Armenia
Simultaneously, Dmitry Medvedev warned the leadership of Armenia about the dangerous consequences of changing its political trajectory, emphasizing that the worst-case scenario for Armenia would be to turn into a new Ukraine and suffer the same catastrophic fate, placing its independence in immediate jeopardy.
Dmitry Medvedev clarified that Moscow does not seek to exert pressure or engage in military conflicts with other countries, nor to usurp the position of any state in the global security architecture.
As he noted, the Russian Federation acts on the basis of its national interests and pursues friendly relations with its neighbors, conscious of the responsibility stemming from its status as a nuclear power and permanent member of the UN Security Council.
Unshakeable strategic alliance of Moscow and Tehran against Western pressure
Concurrently, Dmitry Medvedev, traveling to Tehran on the orders of President Vladimir Putin to attend the mourning ceremonies for the late Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, praised the cohesion and determination of the Iranian people.
Despite wartime conditions and ongoing attacks by the United States of America, the Russian official noted that life in Tehran continues normally, a fact demonstrating the unbroken morale of the nation.
The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation underlined that relations between Russia and Iran stand at an unprecedented level, with trade volume increasing by more than 20% over the past year.
He singled out the Rasht to Astara railway project within the framework of the International North-South Transport Corridor as a catalyst for the region, while confirming the expansion of cooperation in the nuclear sector with the involvement of Rosatom at the Bushehr plants, as well as in the fields of petroleum and agriculture.
Dmitry Medvedev concluded with an unequivocal statement, stressing that Moscow views cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran as permanent and strategic, declaring that Russia will never sacrifice its relations with Tehran, regardless of third-party demands, anchored by the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement.
